Letterman Blasts O’Reilly

I’m not sure how many of you caught Letterman last nite, but he did something quite out of character on his show with his guest Bill O’Reilly. When O’Reilly started to regurgitate his usual right wing drivel, Letterman blasted him saying “you should watch what you say”, “60% of what you say is crap” and on Iraq, “Why the Hell are we there to begin with?”. Now, I’m not liberal or conservative and I do not subscribe to any group’s political agenda, but I think Dave serves as a good example of how we are all fed up with the crap that they are feeding us concerning the war in Iraq. As much as politicians don’t like to believe, Americans are intelligent people and if they tried leveling with us and telling the truth it would go a long way. But it seems that at this point the current administration is in damage control mode.
To tie this post to something that is relevant to this site, this reminds me what a great impact the blogosphere is having and will continue to have on media. Now, instead of being fed biased news from people like O’Reilly, we are able to read news presented by people from all different cultural and economic backgrounds. Anybody with some insights and a modem can write whatever they want and easily put it out there for the world to see. Yes folks, this is democracy at its finest!
