Google Earth for Mac!

Posted by Matt on Jan 10, 2006 in music

What a great day to be a Mac user. Finally we can use Google Earth too! I’m sure it will run great on my new MacBook too! Speaking of, you can catch Steve Jobs keynote speach from MacWorld here. One thing that I forgot to mention earlier was the FM tuner Jobs introduced for the iPod Nano and iPod Video. What a great, necessary feature. Too bad its not compatible with my non-photo non-video non-color old school ipod!

New iMac and MacBook Pro!

Posted by Matt on Jan 10, 2006 in music

O man, I’m reading a live webcast of Steve Jobs keynote at MacWorld and he just announced the new iMac with dual Pentium processors making them 2-3x faster than their predecessors! The new i Macs start shiping today. Jobs also just announced a new dual Pentium processor line of laptops called the MacBook Pro. The MacBooks will ship in February and contain two models initially; $1999 for the 1.67 GHz Core Duo and $2499 for the 1.83 GHz. Jobs also announced iLife 06 which has a photo casting component that integrates with .mac. Another noteworthy portion of the keynote was the announcement that Quark, Rosetta, iLife, iWork and Office are all available in universal binaries running on both Intel and IBM Macs. What a cool keynote, they never seem to fail to deliver the goods. I am a little sceptacle about the new iMacs, they are faster and have dual processors, but what is keeping them cooler? Hopefully there won’t be too many bumps in the road!

Wordpress 2.0

Posted by Matt on Jan 10, 2006 in music

I just upgraded this site to Wordpress 2.0! So far it seems great. It has many new ajaxian features to the interface that make it somewhat slicker. It also has some cool looking new features like the ability to upload a file with a post, add custom tags to a post, password protect posts and an upgraded post preview pane. The upgrade was very easy to install, especially using this guide. I highly recommend moving to Wordpress 2.0!
