…Finally A Delete Button For Gmail

Posted by Matt on Jan 22, 2006 in music

I love Gmail. I route all of my various email addresses through various Gmail accounts. One thing that has always bugged me about Gmail is that there is no delete button. What is up with that? I know that the idea behind it is that they give you so much space for storing your mail (> 2.5 Gb) that there is really no need to ever delete. If a message is spam, there is a “mark as spam” button, but there is no button to completely remove a message. I think there are some messages that just need to be deleted to the bit bin. Traumatic emails where you’ve found out some awful news you just want to forget are ideal candidates for deletion. Emails from people in the past that you’d rather not correspond with anymore are also ideal candidates. Well last week Google announced that it will be including a delete button with the much loved gmail. Thanks Google!

Delete has always been available via the drop down menu.

This is true, but they just added that not too long ago. I’m just happy that they finally gave delete the attention that it deserves, dedicating a button to it.
