I just heard the first release off the new David Gilmour Album On An Island and wow, my thirst for new Floyd has been quenched! The album reminds me of something you’d hear on A Momentary Lapse of Reason with better production quality. Gilmour plays tons of different instruments on the album including guitar(of course), drums, saxaphone, keyboards, cucumbus, harmonica and bass. The album has a roster of legends helping Gilmour out including David Crosby, Graham Nash and Richard Wright. The album is due to be released on March 6. I can’t wait to get my ears on this one. David Gilmour has a very limited tour of the United States and Canada scheduled.
It looks like its going to be a killer summer for festivals! I better clear my calender now! Here is the 2006 Coachella lineup:
